Detection Of corpus luteum After Prostaglandin Treatment By B-ultrasound In Cattle

Edit: Henan Tianchi Instrument Equipment Co., Ltd    Date:2018-05-04
The cattle used B-ultrasound to detect the corpus luteum after prostaglandin treatment. After the treatment of prostaglandin, the corpus luteum of the cow 's ovary was degraded. Some cattle responded to the prostaglandin in 5 - 6 days after estrus, but most cattle had a response to the prostaglandin 7-8 days after the estrus. When the cattle were observed by animal B ultrasound, the corpus luteum of the treated cow began to shrink.
When treated at the later period of the estrus cycle such as estrus for 17 days the luteal body in the ovaries of the cow degenerates by prostaglandins secreted by itself and the shape of the corpus luteum can hardly be seen on B-ultrasound.
Detection Of corpus luteum After Prostaglandin Treatment By B-ultrasound In Cattle
The time from prostaglandin treatment to ovulation was affected by the physiological condition of follicles. When cows were treated with prostaglandin 6 days after estrus, the dominant follicles of the first follicle continued to develop, and the average time from prostaglandin treatment to ovulation was 3 days. The development of follicles can be seen on B-ultrasound in cattle. When cows were treated with prostaglandin for 13 days after estrus, they were in the early stage of the development of dominant follicles in the second follicle wave, so the average time from prostaglandin treatment to ovulation was 3.5 days, while that of most cows was 9 days after estrus. The average ovulatory time of the dominant follicle formed by the first follicle wave was 4 days after prostaglandin treatment. However, some cattle were at the beginning of the second follicle wave dominant follicle after 9 days of prostaglandin treatment, so it took 6 days for the second follicular wave dominant follicle to mature and ovulation. Prostaglandin treatment at different stages of estrous cycle affects the pregnancy rate of cows.
